Colin Stephenson, Gondwana Game Reserve, Garden Route

Gondwana Game Reserve, Garden Route, South Africa have worked with Colin Stephenson, professional photographer based in George, in the western cape for many years. The latest Photographic assignment at Gondwana Game Reserve near Mossel Bay included photographing the interiors of the hotel rooms and the villas on location at the Garden route based game reserve. The unique architectural style needed to be captured photographically to show the volumes the flow from interior to exterior and the building materials used. Photographing both during the day and the evening allowed for a variety of lighting conditions to help create photographic mood and to allow some of the interior exterior light play to be captured. The architectural photographs of the villas also required photos of the villa’s and there interplay with the landscape, the way the site on these slight rises surrounded by grassland and then are tucked into the landscape through landscape designed natural gardens.

Colin Stephenson has worked with the Bay lodge hotel owners documenting this hotel over a number of years. The interior and architectural photography of Bay lodge in Plettenberg Bay has been used in publications as well as marketing materials to market the property. Colin Stephenson worked closely with the interior designer and owner to ensure that all angles of the property where photographically documented. The interior images of the lodge make use of the superb vista’s across the Plettenberg Bay as well as architectural and décor details that make the property unique. When photographing the interiors and vistas a combination of natural and flash lighting was utilised to bring out the strongest interior design features in the most flattering manner. The results are a professional interior photography portfolio that portrays the character of this Eastern Cape hotel property.

The Garden Route based photographers took great pleasure in completing a professional photographic portfolio of the Emily moon lodge in Plettenberg Bay. Choosing the right time of day to amplify the best light for each aspect of the interior using ambient light, portable studio lights or a combination of the two to create striking interior and exterior photographs of the lodge. The landscape and vistas that encompass the lodge were key to the photography portfolio as well, the nature photography of the eastern cape river valley setting the feel of the environment. A combination of styled interior photographs and candid images of the hotel staff going about daily tasks bring across the laid back experience. The professional hotel photography was used to market this South African lodge.

Create Photography have run a professional Photographic studio in George, Garden Route since 2003 and were commissioned to photograph the Pezula Hotel interiors and the Pezula Castle interiors. This portfolio of Interior decor photography has been used in top magazines and in Pezula Hotel marketing materials to advertise the top South African Hotel. Working very closely with the marketing director of the hotel Create Photography documented interiors and architectural details of the properties. Special attention was given to the unique style of décor used with in the castle and the interior photography captures the details of texture and layered luxurious styling of the hotel.
